Welcome Title

WHY THE PARTY?

A Rotarian's creed is "Service Above Self". While the object of Rotary International is to promote "world peace and understanding," Rotary is also concerned with serving the local communities in which we have clubs. This year our theme is: "It's how we treat the least among us that defines our Community."

A large number of Rotary's numerous programs benefit local area children, but this year's Masquerade's charitable proceeds are going to help the MDS People pay for the three community homes they've constructed for the developmentally disabled young people who so desperately need our help.

Masquerade proceeds will assist MDS with “A Home of Their Own”, a project to construct three very specialized houses for people with significant disabilities and medical issues. MDS accepted the challenge to serve these 24 individuals when the state closed their care facility, and now they need help to fund the development of the homes, a $2.3 million project. This project is a model of compassion and life enhancement, offering high level medical care in a home environment.

Mesa Developmental Services is a non-profit organization that provides community based services and support for persons with developmental disabilities of Mesa County.

We promote within caring environments, opportunities that nurture personal growth, improve self esteem, support community inclusion, and advance the independence of those served.

As the community's first (and oldest) service club, Masquerade helps fund the many remarkable local projects that are part of a caring community. Your ticket purchase of $100 is a way to help your community and receive a tax deduction of $60.

Our beautiful city depends on Rotary to "be there" to assist the desperate and needy. Your support of our charity event will benefit everyone in the Grand Valley — including you!
